AJ Brown trade to Patriots would reshape fantasy boards in both cities

The AJ Brown trade rumors have a clear shape now. The deal is widely expected to land on or after June 1, with the Patriots as the destination. The holdup is purely the cap math — Brown's $40M cap charge splits between this year and next once the calendar flips. Compensation chatter centers on a future 1st-round pick (2027 or 2028), though a 2nd-rounder with a player attached is also in play. The Eagles trading up to grab WR Makai Lemon in the 1st round only added more smoke. If this goes down, fantasy values move in both cities.

In New England, Brown immediately becomes the WR1 Drake Maye has not had. Romeo Doubs is a fine WR2, but the room currently lacks a true alpha. Brown changes that.
