Gibbs and Smith-Njigba are delivering on top-pick prices
Jahmyr Gibbs was the #1 overall pick in most drafts, and three weeks in the price looks right. He scored 37.6 in Week 1, 23.3 in Week 2 and 41.4 in Week 3, a 34.1 average. His floor game was still a 23.3, which beats what most RB1s hope for in a good week. Two of his three games cleared 37. Elite ceiling, high floor, and a workload that has not shown any sign of shrinking.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba is scoring at the same level. His weeks read 29.2, 45.5 and 38.4, a 37.7 average, ahead of Gibbs over the same stretch. Last season looked like a breakout. Three weeks of this says it was a starting point. He is not regressing to a WR2 baseline. He is a weekly difference-maker.
Both players have done the same thing: turned a first-round price into a weekly lineup advantage. Holding Gibbs or Smith-Njigba is not a problem to solve. Owners should treat both as untouchable and ignore any trade offers that don't return a top-three player at the same position. If you are trying to buy either one, expect to overpay, and the production so far says that is fair.
